Watershed Management Ordinance amendment adopted

On April 4, 2019, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago’s (MWRD) Board of Commissioners adopted an amendment to the Watershed Management Ordinance (WMO), which regulates development within Cook County and sewer construction within MWRD’s service area. The only change included in this amendment is extending the Watershed Specific Release Rate effective date in §504.3 from May 1, 2019, to June 6, 2019. Another amendment, including the actual Watershed Specific Release Rates, other noteworthy changes, and clarifications, will be submitted to the Board of Commissioners at a later date.

The amended version of the WMO and the redline changes can be accessed at wmo.mwrd.org, along with the Draft Amendment published for public comment.
