With “Abe Lincoln” cutting the bright blue ribbon, Illinois tourism and tollway officials on Monday morning opened a new exhibit at the Chicago Southland Lincoln Oasis: “Abraham Lincoln: Self-Made in America.”

“It displays my life very well,” Vernon Risty, who was playing Lincoln, said at the oasis along the Tri-State Tollway in South Holland. “I approve.”

The exhibit includes eight kiosks that will give residents as well as travelers a taste of what the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum offers in Springfield…Please click here to read Susan Demar Lafferty’s story in the Southtown Star, or here to read a related story in the Times.
