Dear Mayors, Managers, and Staff:
SSMMA is working in partnership with the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus and Community Investment Corporation (CIC) to hold a one-day summit for south suburban landlords at South Suburban College. The event will feature a variety of presentations on the topics of property management, financing and energy efficiency resources to promote affordability and bottom line improvements to property operations, and legal issues such as handling evictions and complying with fair housing laws
The goal of the event is to offer informational resources to landlords and foster better relationships between south suburban municipalities and property owners. We encourage any relevant staff from your community development, building and code enforcement departments to attend, especially the morning “networking” breakfast. All staff that want to attend should register at the link HERE.
We also need your help spreading the word about this event to landlords from your community as soon as possible.
If you have a list of landlords with emails that you would like to provide to us, we are happy to email them the invitation. If you would prefer to send out the invite yourself, we have draft text here that you can use in the body of an email, along with the attached letter that you can attach to the email. Here is a draft agenda for your review and a flyer that you can hang in village hall and other locations throughout the community. We can can also provide these flyers and small posters that we can drop off at your village hall if that is more convenient–just reply to this email and let me know if that works better for you.
