A week before the election for governor, I find myself wondering why there isn’t more enthusiasm in the south suburbs for re-electing Gov. Pat Quinn.

Quinn has been the strongest advocate for two of the largest public works projects in the state, the South Suburban Airport and Illiana Tollway. Both not only would create thousands of jobs but potentially stimulate long-overdue economic development in the Southland.

Quinn’s Republican opponent, Bruce Rauner, has not committed to either of the projects, vowing to study them further if elected…Please click here to read Phil Kadner’s column in the Southtown Star.
