Illinois Hardest Hit program helps families struggling with mortgages

Rainnese Butler was worried. Her once secure job as a procurement analyst working with manufacturing teams was cut in 2015. That left her unemployed for 18 months after which she could only find temporary jobs at significantly less pay.

The mother of two teen boys was six months behind in her mortgage and was in foreclosure on her Hazel Crest home.
