Hammond looks to expand water revenue


HAMMOND — The city is in negotiations with a group of Illinois communities that could increase the amount of revenue it is receiving through the sale of water.

The Hammond Water Works Department already sells water to a number of communities in Illinois and Indiana, although it is the city’s contract with Chicago Heights that has significantly brightened Hammond’s financial outlook.
