April 7: Vacant Property Workshop

The Metropolitan Mayors Caucus is partnering with Business and Professional People for the Public Interest (BPI) and the Woodstock Institute to conduct a series of trainings across the region on best practices related to vacant property ordinances. The training will provide municipal staff and elected officials with information about what makes an effective vacant property program, with a particular focus on implementation strategies. The centerpiece of the training will be a moderated panel discussion with representatives of different communities, followed by an opportunity for Q&A. In addition, they will discuss the implications of a court decision regarding the City of Chicago’s vacant property ordinance and the Federal Housing Finance Authority (FHFA). The next training will take place on Monday, April 7th from 9:30am-11:30am at the Buffalo Grove Village Hall (50 Raupp Blvd.) Please pass information about this workshop along to any interested staff in your municipality.

PLEASE RSVP to amilld@mayorscaucus.org or (312) 201-4507 if you or your staff plan to attend the workshop. There is no cost to attend.
