Will County seeks more details on solar farm in Crete Township

Faced with the first of many requests for a solar farm, Will County officials said they are warm to the idea, but want to make sure they “get it right” the first time.

Several issues were raised during Tuesday’s meeting of the Land Use Committee by county officials and residents regarding a proposal by Cypress Creek Renewables to construct a two to five megawatt solar farm on 45 acres of leased farmland on East Goodenow Road in unincorporated Crete Township.

While committee members were supportive of solar farming, action on the request for a special use permit was tabled until next month, so Cypress Creek can make a presentation to the entire county board…Please click here to read Susan DeMar Lafferty’s story in the Tribune/Daily Southtown.
