Tinley Park looks to map out short- and long-term goals for village

A strategic plan being mulled by Tinley Park officials could perhaps be summed up in two words — transparency and town homes.

Rebuilding “faith and trust” in village government and accelerating development in the Oak Park Avenue business district, such as a town home project delayed by the recession and financing issues, are among goals in a strategic plan recently presented to the Village Board.

Outlining several short-term and long-term goals, the plan, crafted from a series of focus groups and input from village officials, still needs to undergo further refinement, with village staff creating a workable timetable for achieving the objectives…Please click here to read Mike Nolan’s story in the Tribune/Daily Southtown.
