Sept. 16: Metropolitan Mayors Caucus Environment Committee meeting

Park Forest Mayor John A. Ostenburg and Franklin Park Mayor Barrett Pedersen, co-chairs of the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus Environment Committee, invite you to attend a meeting of the Committee to be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, at the offices of the South Suburban Mayors & Managers Association, 1904 W. 174th St., East Hazel Crest.

Items on the agenda for discussion include the recently revised Greenest Region Compact and the recent announcement that the Renewable Energy Resources Fund is making $30 million available for the Illinois Power Agency to purchase renewable energy credits for new solar power systems and the role municipalities will play in that process. It is anticipated that the meeting will not run longer than 90 minutes.
