As one of the nation’s largest homebuilders, Ryland Homes sold more than 7,600 homes in 17 states last year. Now it wants to become a landlord, in south suburban Matteson.
The company is under contract to purchase 130 acres in an unfinished subdivision from an investor, with plans to finish the streets and infrastructure and build about 300 homes.
