Submission Details

The City of Harvey is requesting Statements of Qualification (SOQ) from professional engineering and planning consultants for the Dixie Highway Corridor roadway redesign.

  • Deadline: Submissions must be received by 4:00 PM on October 23rd.

  • Late submissions will not be considered.

  • All SOQs will be reviewed by the City of Harvey Evaluation Team.


Submission Instructions

  • Submit hard copies in a sealed envelope clearly labeled:

    CITY OF HARVEY, IL DIXIE HIGHWAY CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

  • Deliver to:City of Harvey – City Hall15320 Broadway AveHarvey, IL 60426

  • SOQs will be scored and ranked, and the highest-rated firm will be awarded a contract.


Purpose

This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) invites submissions from qualified engineering consultants to provide:

  • Roadway design services

  • Community engagement services


The project covers Phase I Engineering Design for a 2.83-mile section of Dixie Highway, from 139th Street to 159th Street, within Cook County, IL.


Project Overview

The Dixie Highway Corridor Improvement Project includes:

  • Structural pavement reconstruction

  • Truck access improvements

  • Traffic signal installations

  • Water and sewer replacements

  • Street lighting

  • Multi-use side path

  • Pedestrian amenities


These enhancements aim to improve:

  • Multimodal functionality

  • Safety

  • Streetscape aesthetics


The project is funded through the Illinois Surface Transportation Program and will integrate with existing sidewalks and roadway segments. While the design will generally remain within the current utility right-of-way, additional right-of-way acquisition may be required based on the final alignment.
