Public Health and Safety, a training firm, received funding from the Environmental Protection Agency to provide a free training course on the EPA’s Renovation, Repair, and Painting rule for people who live and work in the south suburbs. Please click here for the flyer. The training is 8:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m. on Monday, Nov 13, and will be held at the Oak Forest Health Center, 15900 S. Cicero Avenue, Oak Forest, IL 60452.

This training will provide course info and certification for attendees. It is a great opportunity for tradespeople, but also building code personnel, to become certified in the RRP rule, which will provide them information on lead safe work practices. Anyone who works on homes, schools or child care centers built before 1978 is supposed to have this training. For tradespeople, it is an opportunity to get trained for free. For municipal staff, it is an opportunity to become more familiar with the practices that the contractors working in their towns are supposed to be using.
