New plan released to help reduce flooding in the Calumet Corridor

The Center for Neighborhood Technology released “RainReady” flood prevention plans on 3/22 for six south suburban communities including Blue Island, Calumet City, Calumet Park, Dolton, Riverdale and Robbins. The plans help each town reduce systemic flooding issues while creating more beautiful, economically vibrant communities.

The Calumet Corridor planning process was funded by the Cook County Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program.  CNT’s  project partners were the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association who provided planning, technical assistance, GIS data and community outreach support.
