Lansing to consider waiving building permit fees


Residents and business owners may be able to acquire fee-free permits to make improvements to their homes and buildings in Lansing.

Building Commissioner T.J. Grossi made a pitch to the board Tuesday to approve a permit fee holiday sometime this spring.

Grossi said the move would allow the building department to waive building permit fees associated with owner-occupied homes for two months. A similar ordinance was adopted in 2013 and Grossi said that incentive led to 540 qualifying permits and a total investment of $2.2 million…Please click here to read David P.
