First Responder Actions for Alternative Fuel Vehicles and Infrastructure West Chicago FPD Reg Firefighter Training Academy 320 Kress Road West Chicago, Illinois 60185

Multiple sessions (3 each day) are offered on June 18, 19 and 20. Register here

This free hands-on training will allow participants to learn about the kinds of actions that may be required in an emergency event on actual alternative fuel vehicles. When dealing with alternative fuels, the properties of the fuels (e.g. natural gas, propane, ethanol, hydrogen and electric) are different than traditional diesel and gasoline. This hands-on session complements a series of web-based training modules available through the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Click on Alternative Fuel Vehicle Safety Training for the Fire Service to access the modules.

The session is offered by Chicago Area Clean Cities (CACC) is a nonprofit coalition focused on promoting green transportation solutions for private and public automotive and trucking fleets in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Greenways2Go is conducting the training.

The training is open to first-responders only. Sign up for one of the sessions here.
