Congressman Bobby Rush is hosting a “Homeowners Resource Fair” on Saturday, July 18th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Chicago State University in the Cordell Reed Student Union Building. This event is designed to provide our constituents with a one-stop shop experience where resources, information, and counseling opportunities are available regarding homeownership, mortgage modification, and foreclosure prevention. Various lenders and housing agencies will be in on-hand to offer one-on-one consulting opportunities, as well.
Attendees can receive: • Counseling services for homebuyers; • Information and opportunities to enroll homeowners in foreclosure prevention programs; • On-site assistance with loan modifications and mortgage relief; • Information about their rights as homeowners and how to avoid foreclosure rescue scams; and • Guidance and applications for first-time homebuyer down payment assistance.
At the Fair’s conclusion, the Congressman intends for attendees to have made significant strides towards purchasing a home or remaining in their home. The event is free and on-campus parking is available. Please click here to download the flyer.
