Illinois Housing Development Authority is offering accessibility financial assistance for Cook, DuPa

The Home Accessibility Program is funded by the Illinois Housing Development Authority to help homeowners address long over-due home accessibility issues that affect the health or safety of their families. It is administered by the North West Housing Partnership.

Low income homeowners may qualify for a grant up to $25,000 in home modification, performed by professional contractors.The grant is Forgivable after 5 years.

Eligible improvements include: grab bars, chair lift, handicap accessible showers, lowering cabinets, lowering counter tops, widening doorways, ramps, & walk-in shower. Please click here for more information, or the application.
