Two pairs of towns, one far north and the other far south, had the fastest-moving real estate markets in the suburbs in the first half of the year.
Crain’s crunched end-of-June data that the Chicago Association of Realtors released Monday, looking for the suburbs where in the first six months of the year, three major indicators improved: the number of sales, the median home sale price and the time a listed home spends on the market. (We’ll do the same with data for Chicago neighborhoods and have that story Thursday.)
The four towns that rose to the top of the list are Winthrop Harbor and Beach Park, a pair of neighbors on the northern tip of Illinois’ Lake Michigan shoreline, and Homewood and Flossmoor, another pair of neighbors in southern Cook County…Please click here to read Dennis Rodkin’s story in Crain’s Chicago Business.
