From the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus; please share with municipal staff:

You and your staff are invited to join the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus for a discussion of crime-free and nuisance property ordinances with the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law and the ACLU of Illinois. This will be an interactive discussion regarding these ordinances and suggested tools to regulate the conditions and operation of rental housing. We will also address the new state law requirements of Public Act 99-441, which prohibits municipalities from enacting or enforcing ordinances that penalize tenants or landlords based on police calls that were intended to prevent or respond to domestic or sexual violence or that were made on behalf of an individual with a disability, or based on incidents of actual or threatened domestic or sexual violence or related criminal activity. This meeting will be held in place of the regularly scheduled Housing and Community Development Committee meeting. Details are below:

MEETING TOPIC: Crime-free and Nuisance Property Ordinances DATE: Tuesday, December 8, 2015 TIME: 9:00am-11:00am LOCATION: Mayors Caucus/CMAP office in the Willis (Sears) Tower – 233 S. Wacker Drive, Suite 800, Chicago

Please RSVP with the names of any attendees from your community by emailing Allison Milld Clements at amilld@mayorscaucus.org. All attendees will need to be added to the building’s security list.
