Calumet Stormwater Collaborative discusses cross jurisdictional climate resilience planning at SWS C

Representatives from the Calumet Stormwater Collaborative including SSMMA GIS Analyst José Alarcón, Metropolitan Planning Council Manager Sarah Cardona and Delta Institute Senior Programs Specialist Jack Eskin offered informative presentations on stormwater practices/best management practices in planning and design, on Nov. 14 at the Storm Water Solutions Conference in Tinley Park.

The Calumet Stormwater Collaborative serves as a regional model of how to foster the knowledge sharing, coordination and deployment of stormwater solutions among diverse public, private and civic stakeholders to advance a common goal: build climate resilience by increasing the effectiveness of stormwater management in the Calumet region. The session provided an overview of the collaborative’s approach to building intergovernmental and cross-sector partnerships while highlighting some of the tangible planning resources developed by members that can be tailored to other regions. It also provided examples of successful stormwater projects borne out of the collaborative. See details in the presentation slides.
