A former pesticide plant in Calumet City has been deemed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as one of the most serious hazardous waste sites in the nation.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Monday added Estech General Chemical at 150 Marble St. to the superfund national priority list. The EPA announced its intentions of adding the site to the list in the spring.
