Please join us for a very special Housing Collaborative meeting with special guest Alan Mallach on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at SSMMA offices, 1906 W. 174th St., East Hazel Crest, IL.
Morning Presentation 9 a.m.-11 a.m.
Informal Lunch Discussion to Follow
Over the last year, the South Suburban Housing Collaborative has been working in partnership with Alan Mallach from the Center for Community Progress to develop strategies that our communities can utilize to attract and retain quality landlords in our area and ensure rental property is well-maintained. Alan has developed a number of recommendations for the Collaborative that he will be presenting at our April meeting. In addition, we will be discussing a number of landlord engagement strategies that the Collaborative can pursue in partnership with the Community Investment Corporation (CIC). We encourage you to invite any relevant staff, including code enforcement, community relations and anyone who manages your crime free housing programs to this meeting. Brent Denzin from Ancel Glink will also be available to answer any questions regarding non-home rule policies.
After the meeting, we invite you to join us for a more informal discussion with Alan over lunch, where you will have the opportunity to discuss any issues your municipality may be facing relating to property maintenance and investors. Lunch will be provided and will start at 11:30am.
Please plan on attending!
Your input into our work is important. The Collaborative is here to represent your interests and to serve you!
