Will County’s Center for Economic Development had a busy year, officials said.
Its 2016 annual report shows that over 8,000 new jobs were created last year, 15.2 million square feet of new business space was built, and over $751.3 million was invested in a total of 49 projects.
Amazon led the way, with its four new fulfillment centers in the county, two in Joliet, and one in Romeoville, employing a total of 4,300, and the largest set to open later this year in Monee, an 850,000-square-foot facility, expected to employ over 2,000 people…Please click here to read Susan DeMar Lafferty’s story in the Tribune/Daily Southtown.
