Village of Hazel Crest Hiring - Director of Public Works
The Village of East Hazel Crest is searching for an ambitious, knowledgeable, and responsible person for the position of Public Works Director. East Hazel Crest is a small, landlocked quite community of approximately 1250 residents. We are home to the Wind Creek Casino, with limited manufacturing and a small business presence. We are set amid the Illinois toll road to the north, the CN railroad to the west, Halsted Street to the east and the Village of Homewood to the south. Our departments consist of a Police, Fire, Public Works, and Administration departments who work closely with each other.
The Public Works Director is expected to be a working manager responsible for the daily operations of the Department. The Director of Public Works is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the construction of street improvements, sanitary and storm sewers, water distribution lines, drainage structures, and other public works or utility projects. The Public Works Director also provides administrative and policy direction on public works matters.
