Two of five Cook County camping sites up and running

Reservations to camp at two suburban campgrounds in Cook County are going fast, with three other sites opening by the end of summer.

The Cook County Forest Preserve District last year announced they’d open camping sites to the public for the first time in 50 years.

Camp Sullivan in Oak Forest opened June 12. Camp Shabonna Woods in South Holland opened Memorial Day weekend. And Camp Reinberg in Palatine, Bullfrog Lake in Willow Springs and Camp Dan Beard in Northbrook will all be open by the end of July…Please click here to read Tina Sfondeles’ story in the Sun-Times.
