Please join the South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association in welcoming new planner Sarah Kobetis. She will be providing technical assistance and planning support for SSMMA’s Housing Collaborative and the South Suburban Land Bank and Development Authority (SSLBDA).
Sarah previously served as a community development project manager for GrantWorks in Austin, TX where she managed large-scale CDBG disaster recovery and public infrastructure improvement projects, providing technical assistance to local communities on all aspects of project development, implementation, and administration.
Ms. Kobetis has also conducted environmental planning and permitting research, historic resource reviews, and data analysis as an environmental planning intern at CP&Y in Austin, TX. Most recently, she worked at Northwestern University in Evanston where she assisted faculty with research grant management.
Sarah holds a Master of Science degree in Community and Regional Planning and Historic Preservation from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY. She grew up in Detroit, MI and currently resides in Chicago. She spends her free time collecting and restoring vintage furniture, cooking and reading.
