SSMMA welcomes GIS Analyst Hal Greenwood


Please join SSMMA in welcoming new GIS Analyst Hal P. Greenwood.

Mr. Greenwood, GISP (BS Geography, University of Utah, 1996) has over 18 years experience in geographic information systems (GIS).

Hal was most recently a Senior GIS Programmer/Analyst at Argonne National Laboratory, with responsibility for developing and maintaining geospatial databases used for major projects; analysis and development of geospatial data to produce alternatives used in environmental impact statements; dissemination of data to staff scientists, sponsors, and the public in maps, desktop viewing applications, and interactive web maps.

Previously, Hal was the GIS coordinator at the City of Wheaton and focused on local government GIS applications including cadastral mapping, asset management, internet mapping systems and global positioning systems. His work also included the creation and implementation of customized internet mapping systems to assist planners, engineers, elected officials and the public.

Hal lives in Darien with his wife, Liz and two sons. When not at work, he enjoys snowboarding, hockey and following the Chicago Blackhawks.
