Southland leaders seek exemptions from new prevailing wage requirements

One of the Southland’s top manufacturing success stories is leading an effort to exempt the south suburbs from new Cook County prevailing wage requirements that municipal leaders say would cripple private investment.

Hazel Crest-based Lanco Group of Companies wants local city councils and village boards to adopt resolutions asking the Cook County Board to exempt five of the county’s 30 townships from the new requirements.
