The RTA is calling today (March 2) for Section 5310 Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities projects. We are inviting local governments, private non-profit organizations and transportation providers to apply for Section 5310 funding through an open competitive process initiated by the RTA.

The RTA estimates $8.4 million will be available for award through this process. The Section 5310 Program currently funds a number of projects that are providing over 200,000 trips per year helping to improve mobility for seniors and individuals with disabilities.  To obtain an application and more information on the program, please visit the RTA website.

We are pleased to administer these dollars that help local governments and non-profit agencies provide specialized transit services for seniors and people with disabilities.

The funds are dedicated to removing barriers to transportation service and expanding  transportation mobility options. The Section 5310 program is the only available source of federal transit funds for projects designed to serve older adults and people with disabilities that go beyond the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  For more information on all projects funded by Section 5310 funds, please visit the RTAMS website.
