Officials to address I-80 safety during town hall meeting

I like what’s starting to happen in regards to safety along Interstate 80 through Will County.

Anyone who has traveled the road, especially west of New Lenox, knows driving can get pretty scary at times.

“The road is not functioning at the level it needs to be,” said Mary Craighorn, a transportation analyst with the LaGrange-based Illinois Economic Policy Institute. “It is definitely in need of improvement…” Click here for Ted Slowik’s column in the Tribune/Daily Southtown.

A group calling itself Residents United for Safer Highways, or RUSH, is holding a town hall meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 11 in the Moser Performing Arts Center at the University of St. Francis, 500 Wilcox St., Joliet.
