Officials say south suburban outlet mall is making progress

“Construction begins soon,” a recently installed billboard next to acres of farmland informs passersby on Cicero Avenue.

It refers to Chicagoland Outlets at Country Club Hills, a 400,000-square-foot outlet mall which has, in various iterations, been on the drawing board since 2007.

Residents attending City Council meetings have, in recent months, been told the mall is progressing, although a spokesman representing the mall’s owner and developer said this week that it could be some time before there’s tangible evidence of movement…Please click here to read Mike Nolan’s story in the Tribune/Daily Southtown.
