Oct 22: Link and Leverage forum on environmental issues

The South Metropolitan Higher Education Consortium and the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus invite you to attend a Link and Leverage forum.

We will work with the Caucus to align environmental issues, resources and actions at the local and regional levels to help municipalities achieve meaningful and measurable environmental sustainability and resilience.

Link & Leverage: A higher education, government, and community based organization partnership for sustainability and resiliency The South Metropolitan Higher Education Consortium (SMHEC) is a diverse group of higher education institutions- community colleges, research institutions, for-profit, not-for-profit, small and large- in the south and southwest suburban Chicago area fostering new and enhanced educational services and programs to citizens, businesses and other institutions in region. The group spearheads the implementation of institutional practices through networking, education, research, a diversity of skills and shared support. Funding for SMHEC sustainability initiatives come from membership dues and event sponsorships. This consortium is managed by Executive Director, Genevieve Boesen. The SMHEC Sustainability Task Force was established in 2009 by SMHEC’s Presidents’ Council to strengthen its member institutions’ capacities to leverage resources and information particular to sustainability and the application of renewable practices. For over 6 years, the group has focused attention on creating resilient campuses, minimizing costs and increasing resources to provide more services to member students and communities.
