Obituary and final arrangements for former Thornton Mayor Jack Swan

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends of former Thornton Mayor Jack Swan, as well as to the entire village. Jack was the mayor of Thornton for 20 years and served with the Thornton Fire Department starting in 1968, serving as Fire Chief for several years as well.

Visitation was Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 3:00 – 9:00 p.m., with a Fire Department walk through at 7:00 p.m. at SMITS, DEYOUNG-VROEGH FUNERAL HOME 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt.6/159th St.) South Holland, IL. Funeral service Friday, November 3 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church (508 Chicago Rd. Thornton, IL 60476) with Rev. Harold Wahl officiating. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery, Lansing, IL.
