Oak Forest won’t go along with Cook County minimum wage hike, sick leave plans

Oak Forest municipal officials said Tuesday they do not believe they should have to comply with a minimum wage increase and a sick leave policy the Cook County Board enacted earlier this year.
The City Council voted 7-0 to approve an ordinance that says Oak Forest will opt out of the measures that would gradually increase the minimum wage to $13 and also require companies to provide up to five days of sick leave per year to their employees…Please click here to read Gregory Tejeda’s story in the Tribune/Daily Southtown.
