By Northwest Municipal Conference Executive Director Mark L. Fowler
Eighty-six vehicles and pieces of equipment were sold, with gross sales totaling $297,050, during the NWMC live surplus vehicle and equipment auction was held at America’s Auto Auction on Oct. 25. This is an increase of $144,450 more than the spring auction gross sales. For the first time, members of the South Suburban Mayors & Managers Association and the Metro West Council of Government joined the NWMC in the expanded auction program. Thank you to the following 15 municipalities and one public library who participated in the auction: Crete; Elburn; Evanston; Glenview; Homewood, Lincolnshire; Lincolnwood; Morton Grove; Northbrook; Palatine; Rolling Meadows; Skokie; Skokie Public Library; South Holland; Wheeling; and, Wilmette. Future auctions will also feature participation from members of the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference. To reflect the expanded participation and as an avenue for additional marketing opportunities, America’s Auto Auction has created a new website for our auctions. Please visit http://municipality.auction/ for information on future auctions and to view the items up for sale. Staff contact: Ellen Dayan
The next auction is January 24, however Amreica’s Auto Auction holds weekly auctions if any community wants to auction off vehicles before then.
