Newly launched Homewood Bat Co. swinging for fences

A new south suburban bat company, Homewood Bat Co., has been such a hit that it’s already in the big leagues.

“This is a startup boutique bat company that just opened in Homewood and is already supplying bats to major league players,” said Thomas Vander Woude, director of economic and community development for the Village of Homewood. “This is an interesting example of small-scale industry.”

Todd Pals founded the wooden bat manufacturer at 17845 Bretz Drive, in Homewood. It supplies amateur players from Little League through college, minor league players and even Major League Baseball pros, including on the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox…Please click here to read Joseph S.
