Most tax increment financing districts in the south and southwest suburbs gained revenue last year compared with 2015, according to a new report by Cook County Clerk David Orr.
TIF districts are widespread in the Southland, with communities using incremental increases in property tax revenue to pay for public improvements such as new streets, water and sewer lines and sidewalks.
