Metra begins station improvements near Pullman

In one of the first steps to improve transportation around the Pullman National Monument on the Far South Side, Metra announced Thursday that work to improve the 111th Street station started this month.

The project includes replacements of the warming house, replacement of platform deck boards, removal of the unused portion of the platform, replacement of the stairway to the platform and repair or replacement of the roof over the stairway, in addition to new paint…Please click here to read Grace Wong’s story in the Tribune.
