Marcus Theatres purchases AMC Loews in Country Club Hills

Barely three months after the AMC Loews Country Club Hills Theater closed, the city and Marcus Theatres announced Tuesday the Milwaukee-based chain has purchased it and will reopen the theater later this year.

Marcus, which also owns multi-screen theaters in Chicago Heights and Orland Park, said the 16-screen Country Club Hills theater, 4201 W. 167th St., will undergo a major renovation, including the installation of power reclining chairs in auditoriums and the addition of a lounge that will serve cocktails, beer, wine and food…Please click here to read Phil Arvia’s story in the Tribune/Daily Southtown.
