June 6: Cal-Sag Trail grand opening and ribbon-cutting

The Friends are planning a grand opening on National Trails Day, Saturday, June 6. Join us at Lake Katherine in Palos Heights for a fun outdoor celebration of Cook County’s newest outdoor recreation amenity with:

1. Ribbon Cutting at Lake Katherine, 10:30 AM. (link to map)

2. Ride the Cal-Sag, a family bike ride hosted by The Palos Kiwanis Club

3. Commemorative water bottle, while quantities last.

4. Friends’ VIP Tent featuring refreshments, music and beer garden (thanks Hailstorm!) Get your ticket on-line before May 17 for $10 or $15 day of while tickets last

5. Bike parking, Bike Mechanic and Running Shoe Guru at trailside, courtesy rbikes.com and Running for Kicks

6. Other amusements, wonders and marvels.
