July 16-19: Experimental Aircraft Association rides available from Lansing Municipal Airport

Experimental Aircraft Association No. 260 will offer the public a chance to step back in aviation history this July.

The 1929 Ford Tri-motor, the first mass-produced American airliner, will be available for rides from the Lansing Municipal Airport from July 16 to 19.

The “tin goose” was built by Ford from 1926 until 1933. Only 199 were ever made and the EAA’s model 4-AT-E was the 146th. It first flew on Aug. 21, 1929…Please click here to read David P. Funk’s story in the Times.
