July 11: Blue Island hosts stakeholder meeting following MetroSouth Hospital closure announcement

The City of Blue Island is hosting a MetroSouth Summit on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at the Blue Island East Annex, 2434 Vermont Street. The meeting of local and regional stakeholders, including South Suburban Mayors & Managers Executive Director Kristi DeLaurentiis, and Thornton Mayor Bob Kolosh, who also serves as SSMMA Public Safety chairman, will address MetroSouth’s recent closure announcement.

At the MetroSouth Summit, Elected Officials, along with DeLaurentiis and Kolosh, will facilitate discussion about the impact of MetroSouth Hospital’s planned closure, collect feedback to identify critical community healthcare needs, and brainstorm development concepts for the property should MetroSouth Hospital operations cease.
