Come join the Illinois Tollway and celebrate Arbor Day. On April 28, they are giving away 7,500 tree seedlings and 7,500 wildflower seed packets. Everyone who picks up a tree or seeds also will receive a coupon for a free entry into The Morton Arboretum in Lisle.
Stop by the Tollway oasis in South Holland (Chicago Southland Lincoln oases on the Tri-State Tollway- I-94/I-294/I-80) or any one of the seven oases and pick yours up from 7 a.m. until supplies run out.
Choose from four varieties of tree species that are native to Illinois, including:
Shagbark Hickory
Red Oak
Pin Oak
Pecan
Or pick up seed packets with a mix of native wildflowers, including:
Wild bergamot (monarda fistulosa)
Black-eyed Susan (rudbeckia hirta)
Join the Tollway and support the Chicago Region Trees Initiative to build a healthier and more diverse urban forest and help restore and create habitat for monarch butterflies and other important pollinators. Learn more >
