Illinois Municipal League to focus on tax revenue, arbitration

The Illinois Municipal League is focusing its efforts this legislative session on restoring local government’s share of state income tax revenue up to 10 percent, reforming the state’s Freedom of Information Act, identifying measures that prevent local government service consolidations and requiring arbitrators to consider cities and villages’ economic situations during rulings, President Darryl Lindberg said. The league acts as a formal voice for more than 1,100 communities.
