The Illinois Department of Transportation is moving quickly on two giant Will County projects — the south suburban airport and the Illiana Expressway, which combined could cost about $2 billion.
State Transportation Secretary Ann Schneider announced an aggressive schedule for both projects during a Joliet Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Tuesday at the Holiday Inn.
