Homewood Disposal cuts ribbon on area’s first public CNG fueling station

Homewood Disposal Service, Inc. cut the ribbon the area’s first public compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station on July 21, 2016. Officially opening to the public in early August 2016, The HDS Energy station allows any vehicle that runs on compressed natural gas to easily refuel. The station’s location, 1501 W. 175th Street, is near Halsted Ave. and Interstate 80 and is a convenient stop for the area’s busy transportation corridor.

Homewood Disposal began its commitment to cleaner fuel in 2012 when it first added CNG trucks to its fleet. For easy fleet fueling, Homewood Disposal installed a private CNG filling at its Park Forest, Illinois location.
