Grand Prairie Services, a non-profit behavioral healthcare provider serving the south suburban communities for over 66 years, now offers Mental Health First Aid training. GPS has both Adult MHFA and Youth MHFA certified instructors who are available to conduct on-site MHFA trainings to organizations. In addition, GPS offers MHFA trainings every other month at their location in Tinley Park, Illinois. During the training, participants will learn how to recognize the signs and risk factors of depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, psychotic disorders, eating disorders and substance abuse disorders. Participants will also be trained how to assist someone experiencing a mental health crisis and strategies.
