Funding opportunity: Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) Program

The federal INFRA Grants program provides dedicated, discretionary funding for projects that address critical issues facing our nation’s highways and bridges. INFRA grants will support the Administration’s commitment to fixing our nation’s crumbling infrastructure by creating opportunities for all levels of government and the private sector to fund infrastructure, using innovative approaches to improve the necessary processes for building significant projects, and increasing accountability for the projects that are built.

The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) announced the second round of the Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) discretionary grant program through a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) in the Federal Register.  The INFRA program will make approximately $855-902.5 million available to projects that are in line with the Administration’s principles to help rebuild America’s crumbling infrastructure – a priority for this Administration.  In addition to providing direct federal funding, the INFRA program aims to increase the total investment by state, local, and private partners. INFRA advances a grant program established in the FAST Act of 2015 and utilizes updated criteria to evaluate projects to align them with national and regional economic vitality goals and to leverage additional non-federal funding. Read more.
