The Forest Preserves of Cook County seeks input on its Trail Master Plan, which will be open for public comment through October 18, 2013 http://fpdcc.com/trailmasterplan/ The overarching goal of the Trail Master Plan is to improve the user experience and identify opportunities to ensure a safe and easy to navigate trail system. The plan addresses key policies and long-range planning for more than 300 miles of Forest Preserve trails. Specific improvements include adding more trail signage, updating the trail classification system, piloting a trail naming system, identifying and developing new trailheads and building a larger volunteer program. The Forest Preserves welcomes public feedback on the plan and Kindy Kruller, Senior Planner, can be contacted with any questions at kindy.kruller@cookcountyil.gov.
